Bella Electric Strings, led by rock violinist and arranger Nina DiGregorio, has rocked audiences worldwide with their blistering solos, unique arrangements—not to mention their beauty and charm. The girls have performed with some of the biggest names in the business, from Beyonce to Shakira to Andrea Bocelli, and have appeared on America’s Got Talent Season 1. Bella Electric Strings were recently featured in a David Foster and Friends concert alongside the legendary songwriter and producer.

The girls perform on Yamaha instruments and their music can be heard during many Yamaha String Educator clinics. Recently, the girls were the featured string quartet for Richard Marx, backing him up for his Las Vegas all acoustic show. The girls also comprised most of the string sections for both the Yellow Brick Road Symphonic Rock show as well as legendary rockers Deep Purple, at the Pearl Theatre in Las Vegas. They have opened for the vast array of talent, including Charlie Daniels and Michael McDonald. They keep a busy corporate schedule and are one of the most sought-after acts in North America.

What makes us different from other electric string groups?

We get asked this question all the time. Well, for one, we set out to be strictly a rock quartet…ranging from classic rock to heavy metal….we just love to rock out! Our set list consists of custom arrangements of rock tunes written by Nina DiGregorio, the group’s creator.  The girls who perform with Bella Electric Strings are all highly trained in the art of improvisation and soloing. Remember how the Yardbirds had 3 powerhouse soloists on guitar? And they turned into Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page….That’s us. All powerhouse soloists. We don’t hire guitar players to solo on our tracks or albums, we do it ourselves. We all use custom effects pedals and are very conscious of our evolving tones, just as a guitar player would be.

We all have our own styles of soloing and like to implement our personalities into our set list and improvisations. Where will this take us? We are already working on some original music for the next album. This will be completely unique from any other Electric string group out there. Think Oz Noy for violins. (Too hip for the room? Google him!) We are all serious players and writers, and the original album will show that. We have no plans to abandon our rock cover tunes, as they are fun to play and write, we get to pay tribute to our favorite guitar players, and keep our fans and clients happy hearing music that they recognize.

So we hope that for any potential fans or clients out there, this answers your question of what makes us different. Expect a band consisting of four girls who all have masters degrees in classical performance, who happen to be blessed with lots of curly long hair, pushing the boundaries of what a group of string players can do. Pretty much, the only thing we have in common with other string groups, is the fact that we are a string quartet…but that would be like saying any 4 piece band is just like the Beatles…based on instrumentation. Bella Electric Strings takes on a whole different genre and direction. We hope to see all of you soon!

Excuse us while we go transcribe another ripping Hendrix solo…
